Hi! My name is Danika, and I'm incredibly excited to begin my journey at UC Davis, majoring in Animal Science. Ever since I was a little girl I've had a deep passion for animals and a dream of becoming a veterinarian. Over the past four years of high school, I've worked tirelessly to turn that dream into a reality. I've spent countless hours interning and volunteering with animals at places like veterinary clinics, Sale Ranch Animal Sanctuary, All Star Fur Pet Foundation, and Feline Underground Rescue. Through these experiences, I've fallen in love with so many animals and have witnessed what they go through and overcome. It has truly been a blessing to be a part of their journey and watch them heal and live happy lives. In addition, I founded my high school's first veterinary club, the Future Veterinarian Society, to help students like me explore the veterinary field and gain access to information and resources I wish I had earlier. I know the road to becoming a Veterinarian is long and challenging, but it is such a rewarding career and I know it will all be worth it! These funds will go directly toward covering the cost of my textbooks and helping me get a reliable computer for my coursework. Having these resources will make a huge difference as I begin this journey and allow me to fully focus on my studies. Thank you for supporting me along the way!
